Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth, the lead stars of the upcoming post-apocalyptic action film “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” have officially launched the movie’s press tour in Sydney, Australia. The two actors were joined by director George Miller at the media call held at the Overseas Passenger Terminal in Circular Quay.
The film, which is a prequel to the critically acclaimed “Mad Max: Fury Road,” follows the story of a young Furiosa as she is snatched from her home, the Green Place of Many Mothers, and falls into the hands of a powerful Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. As the two tyrannical leaders, Dementus and the Immortan Joe, wage war for dominance, Furiosa must fight for her survival and find a way back to her homeland.
Taylor-Joy, known for her roles in “The Queen’s Gambit” and “Emma,” will be portraying the iconic character of Furiosa, while Hemsworth, the star of the “Thor” franchise, will be taking on a new role in the “Mad Max” universe. Fans of the post-apocalyptic saga are eagerly anticipating the release of “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” which is set to hit theaters on May 24.
