Angourie Rice – “Mean Girls” Premiere in New York 01/08/2024
“Mean Girls” 2024 is a musical remake of the original 2004 film. The plot follows a similar storyline, with some updates and changes to accommodate the musical format.
The main character, Cady Heron (played by Lindsay Lohan), is a former homeschool student who moves to Evanston, Illinois, and enters North Shore High School. She befriends Janis and Damian, two outsiders who introduce her to the school’s social hierarchy, led by Regina George and her minions, Gretchen Wieners and Karen Smith. Cady becomes popular and joins the Plastics, but her newfound popularity and relationship with Aaron, a boy who works at the school’s library, cause tension among the Plastics.
The situation escalates when Cady inadvertently reveals the Plastics’ secret plans in her speech at the school’s talent show, leading to a fight between them and the end of their reign at the school.
