Emma Stone and Mark Ruffalo Promote “Poor Things” 01/05/2024
The film is directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and is based on the 1992 novel by Alasdair Gray. Emma Stone plays Bella Baxter, a woman who undergoes an experiment by Dr. Godwin Baxter, portrayed by Willem Dafoe. Mark Ruffalo plays Duncan Wedderburn, a debauched lawyer whom Bella runs off with to explore the world. The cast and crew celebrated the film’s New York premiere on December 7, 2023, where Ruffalo praised Stone’s performance, calling her “a once in a generation talent”. Stone’s performance in “Poor Things” has been widely praised for its daring and fearlessness. The film was released in theaters on December 8, 2023.
