Cate Blanchett, a two-time Oscar winner, is set to make her triumphant return to the stage in Thomas Ostermeier’s revival of Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull. The production, opening at London’s Barbican Theatre, marks Blanchett’s first stage performance in over five years. She plays Arkadina, a complex and vain actress, opposite Emma Corrin, who takes on the role of Nina, a young, ambitious country girl. Corrin, known for their portrayal of Princess Diana in The Crown, brings a fresh, modern twist to the character, reimagining Nina as more assertive and flirtatious.
