On July 6, 2025, Diane Kruger arrived at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris for the inaugural Bal d’Été—a centennial celebration of the 1925 Exposition des Arts Décoratifs—and looked as though she’d stepped out of a Maxfield Parrish painting.

Her gown, from Alberta Ferretti’s Fall 2025 collection, was a study in softness: off-white, sheer, and layered in cascading ruffles that caught the breeze like parchment in motion. The silhouette was fluid but deliberate, with a high neckline and long sleeves that balanced the gown’s transparency with restraint. It was Ferretti at her most poetic—romantic, but never saccharine.

Kruger paired the look with the Olympia Le-Tan “Lovers” book clutch—a signature piece from the brand’s literary archive, rendered in pink with embroidered typography. The accessory added a touch of whimsy, grounding the gown’s dreaminess with a wink of narrative charm.

Her shoes—nude, strappy heels—disappeared beneath the hem, letting the dress do the talking. Hair was swept back into a low chignon, and makeup stayed soft: flushed cheeks, a muted rose lip, and a wash of shimmer across the lids. The overall effect? Timeless, with a whisper of the fantastical.
