Daisy Edgar-Jones, the 26-year-old actress known for her role in “Normal People,” has teamed up with EE and BAFTA for the Set The Stage campaign, launched in February 2025. This initiative aims to inspire the next generation of filmmakers by offering teenagers aged 15 to 17 the opportunity to write, direct, and produce a short film under the guidance of industry experts.

The campaign addresses the generational divide in career perceptions, with recent research commissioned by EE revealing that 97% of parents worry about their children’s career aspirations, preferring traditional careers, while teens favor modern, tech, and creative roles. Edgar-Jones, along with other BAFTA award-winning mentors, will guide the selected teens through the filmmaking process, helping them translate their creative skills into future opportunities.

The project is also supported by Broadcaster and BAFTA Fellow, Baroness Dame Floella Benjamin, who advocates for youth opportunities and demonstrates how teenage curiosity can lead to fulfilling careers. The short film created through this initiative will premiere in 2026, showcasing the talents of these young filmmakers.
