The pop star’s floor-length gown, adorned with rhinestones and glass beads, was meticulously pieced together from vintage T-shirts, paying homage to the simplicity and versatility of the classic white tee.

The collaborative effort between Charli and Marni’s design team resulted in a striking fusion of old and new, reflecting the singer’s renegade style. The idea of transforming the humble T-shirt into something extravagant was a shared vision, with Charli explaining, “The white T-shirt is reflective of so many things, so many fashion sensibilities, so many styles. It’s classic, punk, comfortable, sexy, casual … all at once.”

The creation of this one-of-a-kind dress required an impressive 200 hours of workmanship by 15 skilled seamstresses from Marni’s atelier in Milan. Charli’s stylist, Chris Horan, praised the brand’s understanding of the artist, stating, “Marni has become one of our favorite collaborators because they genuinely understand Charli as an artist.”

As Horan recalled, “I didn’t say anything when I sent Charli the sketches because I wanted to see if we would have the same favorite, and we did!”
