The Anyone But You star stepped onto the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s iconic red carpet in a midnight beaded gown, a custom creation by Miu Miu that paid homage to classic Hollywood elegance.

The gown, dripping in beaded fringe, featured a dramatic train that shimmered under the lights, while a peek-a-boo cutout adorned with gold detailing added a modern edge. Sweeney’s hair, styled into a sleek bun with delicate kiss curls, complemented the vintage aesthetic.

Taking to Instagram Stories before the event, Sweeney revealed her inspiration—a costume worn by Kim Novak in the 1968 film The Legend of Lylah Clare, previously donned by Joan Crawford in The Bride Wore Red. The actress, set to portray Novak in the upcoming film Scandalous!, collaborated with director Coleman Domingo, a Met Gala co-chair, to refine her look.
