A polished updo or more defined makeup would have added a useful break between the oversized eyewear and the long uninterrupted black garment. Instead, everything stays quiet.
That choice makes sense for a front-row appearance at Pierpaolo Piccioli’s debut Balenciaga couture collection, where the setting was already loaded with fashion-world expectation. In the wider run of Paris Fashion Week coverage, this is a smart refusal to compete with the occasion through excess. It also fits a day when Woodley received an Emmy nomination for her guest role in Hulu’s Paradise, though the outfit never turns that career moment into a costume.
The concept is good. The finish needs one more decision. A 6.5/10, because the sunglasses and bag sharpen the look while the pooled hem leaves the dress one adjustment short.
