Rihanna’s Off-Duty Style: Leather and Leopard in NYC

Updated August 8, 2025 by Lara Parker ★Add CelebMafia on Google

Rihanna

Before she was a mogul, Rihanna’s off-duty style was a masterclass in urban cool—a bold mix of street glam and a flash of fiery red hair.

To understand Rihanna’s fashion legacy, you have to look past the red carpets and rewind to her 2010 street style. On September 29, 2010, she was spotted heading into Da Silvano restaurant in New York City, serving a look that was both casual and meticulously composed. This wasn’t just a celebrity out for dinner; this was a statement.

The foundation was simple: a pair of black, form-fitting leather pants. But Rihanna, ever the stylist, built the outfit with a palpable sense of texture and attitude. She paired them with a cropped, knotted gray denim shirt, cinched just so to show a sliver of skin. The real punch, however, came from the leopard-print scarf thrown carelessly around her neck. It was a daring choice, a deliberate clash of prints and textures that worked because, well, it was Rihanna.
A defiant femininity.
Her vibrant red hair was the ultimate accessory, a non-verbal proclamation that she was in her ‘Loud’ era and not to be ignored. Her shoes—nude ankle-strap pumps—offered a surprising, elegant finish, proving she could transition from street to high-end with a single, simple swap.
