At the Fashion Trust US 2026 Awards at Nya Studios in Los Angeles on April 7, 2026, Maika Monroe wore a bright green lace-and-satin gown with gold earrings—and the neckline is the whole conversation.
This shade is bold, and the neckline is even bolder. Maika Monroe hit the Fashion Trust US 2026 Awards at Nya Studios in Los Angeles on April 07, 2026 in a bright green gown that’s clearly trying to be the standout on the red carpet.
The bodice is sheer lace with a deep plunge and scalloped edges that climb up into a halter-style shape. It’s intricate up close—floral lace, lots of texture—and then it drops into a smoother green skirt that looks satin-like with a soft, fluid drape. The contrast is dramatic. And I get the intent.
But I’m not convinced the two halves totally belong together. The lace is romantic and busy; the skirt is clean and almost minimal, and the seam where they meet feels a little abrupt. I keep going back and forth on it, because the color is striking, yet the construction line makes it feel slightly “top from one dress, bottom from another.”
Accessories are straightforward: chunky gold statement earrings, slicked-back hair, and (from what’s visible) dark pointed footwear peeking out under the hem. Nothing here is fighting the dress, which is probably the right call.
Reader’s challenge: Would you keep the sheer lace plunge, or trade it for a cleaner bodice and let the green color do the work?
