Chlöe Bailey’s first-day look for Saint Lucia Carnival 2026 is designed on a monumental scale, but its visual order begins with a tightly organized jeweled center. Photographed by Brandon Almengo, Chlöe Bailey in carnival costume styling wore a Lauren Austin design built from multicolored stones, body framing bands, feathered leg pieces, and an enormous wing structure.
The costume’s central section is dense without becoming shapeless. Faceted stones in pink, gold, turquoise, and clear tones trace the neckline, waist, hips, and legs, creating repeated points of light across the open construction. A layered jeweled bib extends from the collar toward the torso, while smaller hanging stones add movement around the shoulders and chest.
Behind that concentrated core, the feather structure expands dramatically. Magenta plumes form the largest outer field, orange feathers build a warmer inner layer, and deep blue sections appear lower on the frame. The colors aren’t scattered randomly. They move outward in bands, making the size of the wings easier to read.
The headdress repeats the same hierarchy. A crystal-covered crown frames Bailey’s face, then rises into longer decorative points and two peacock feathers at the top. That vertical lift keeps the enormous side wings from making the costume feel visually flat. It also connects the headpiece to the long feathered extensions falling behind the legs.
Clear platform sandals remain visually quiet beneath the detailed leg wraps, which is the correct choice for celebrity style shaped by carnival design. A colored shoe would have introduced another competing surface at the bottom.
The costume succeeds through repetition rather than restraint. Jewels, feathers, curved bands, and vertical points appear at every level, but each element follows the same pink, orange, blue, and gold system.
